Myopia (nearsightedness)

Poor distance vision

Myopia is a refractive eye defect that causes poor distance vision, while vision at short distances remains sharp. Myopia is caused by a lack of elasticity of the eye lens, rendering it incapable of sufficiently flattening. Light rays are focused in front of the retina rather than behind it, causing distant images to appear blurry. Myopia can be corrected by lenses with minus addition value. (ie -3.50)
