Deposits

Deposits are substances adhering to the surface of the contact lens during wear. We divide them into organic and inorganic. The organic deposits are formed by metabolites of protein or fat origin, which are normal components of tears. Inorganic deposits are composed of elements of microscopic particles of dirt. Deposits are one of the causes of certain inflammatory diseases, eye irritation or redness. Deposits do not affect the quality of vision, and that is why they are often neglected by the contact lens wearers. It is important to respect the manufacturer's recommended length of use of contact lenses. Every material reacts differently to deposits, and its recommended exchange cycle reflects this.
